The worlds of work and education are changing fast.
In some ways, they’re merging: It’s more important than ever to learn constantly, not only to qualify for jobs or projects, but to keep the jobs we already have.
In some ways, they’re diverging: The sad statistics about unemployed recent college grads indicates that a degree may not be as relevant to long term employment and prosperity as people once thought.
We try to reconcile those two realities by providing:
Profiles of jobs and career fields on the upswing. We use the US Dept of Labor’s ONET Online service to identify promising job and career areas. Then we go looking for profiles, tutorials or other information that will give you a sense of that job.
Preparation for those jobs and career fields. Sometimes that might mean we’ll provide directions to a school or training program. Sometimes we’ll assemble a whole set of skill-specific tutorials right here.
In any case, our purpose is to help you learn the things you need to know, to earn the future that destiny has in mind for you.
